♥ #BlissfulGiveaways : Starbucks Planner / Attitude of Gratitude: January 2018 ♥

For two consecutive days, Bo Sanchez’ “God Whispers” emails/messages hit the center of my heart, bullseye! Do you think it’s just coincidence that the messages for me on those days were something I can very well relate to at the moment? Well, I choose not to believe in the latter. I more believe in perfect timing. Below are the messages:

Dear Karen,

Waiting is the chance I give you to take pauses to pray.

P.S. Karen, instead of getting impatient, redeem the time and pray for those around you.

Dear Karen,

As the first month of this year ends, what are you most grateful for? What have you accomplished? What do you still need to do?

P.S. Karen, pondering on what was, what is, and what should be is a way of calibrating your bearings to reach your goals.

The first message reminds me that January had just been over and so it’s time for me to reflect on my blessings and declare/publish my gratitude list.

My 7-year rock-solid marriage. After seven years, (I know it’s not much compared to others but still, it’s not always easy to choose love!) I’m glad I still wake up in the morning beside the man I love and I still get to close my eyes at night knowing I made the rightest decision in my life seven years ago when I married my husband. Life has been a rollercoaster ride, especially with three kids around. But, since I’m with the right man, we’re still standing together, hand-in-hand, raising an amazing family.

Well, like the obvious, I’m grateful that my husband is the man I love and that he loves me too. If you want to know the extent of my gratitude for having him in my life, you can read about that here.

The stock market has been very kind to me the past months or the past trades I did. I wish I could take this to a new level. As in, a new level of knowledge, a new level of application and a new level of capital. I surely pray that this 2018 be the year for my trading.

Accomplishments, oh wow, nothing outside of my work really. But, I’ve managed to have a sound financial plan and goals for this year. What I need to do is to exercise discipline so I’d be able to achieve my goals.

And, since the first month of 2018 has been nothing but good to me and my family, I’d like to pass on some blessings too. I know that this little giveaway is one month late but who says we cannot start planning in February? Two of my friends gave me Starbucks planner. I only use one so I’m giving away the other. If you are interested, just comment on this post about something you’re thankful for. Let’s choose a winner through a randomizer on February 9.

Ooops! Only the planner, folks! The cute baby is absolutely not included. 🙂
Start your Valentine planning with this!
There’s a Starbucks card and stencil too!

The second message which really gets through my heart is about patience. I am a self-confessed impatient person. I never like to wait. I’m not good at that. I always argue that time is gold, time is currency, time is a luxury for me and I am scarce when it comes to time. I always tell CSRs, “Sorry, but I don’t have all the time in the world, you know!”.

I eat fast. I work fast. I talk fast. I walk fast. I am discouraged by long queues. I despise the traffic. I hate slow people. I have no time. Period. Sometimes, I wonder whatever happened to “Stop and smell the flowers.”.

Sigh. Big sigh. You know what? I’m not big on resolutions. I stopped making one years ago but today is an exemption. I will try to slow down. I will exercise patience. And while I’m at it, I’ll talk to God through a small prayer. Maybe, these waiting times are the times God is trying to reach out and talk to me.

I hope you had a good start of the year. Be blessed always. 🙂
