For my birthday this year, the hubby and I decided to just stay in Manila because of the heavy traffic brought by Skyway expansion construction and SEA Games Philippines 2019. Since there are sports events around Manila, we decided to check out the venues and watch whatever game we could catch on the day. This is my very first SEA Games spectator experience. Not the way I planned to celebrate my birthday, but I had a blast anyway. What a unique and fun way to celebrate!

Even if the female gymnasts did not win any medal, they did what they could do and the crowd appreciated.
The volunteers/organizers, together with the Philippine gymnasts, the athletes themselves, took time and effort to entertain the unwavering supportive crowd during the scores tallying. Good vibes lang.
From SEA Games Philippines 2019 to Seafoods Philippines!
That was it! I wish I could have watched/could watch more. It’s a different energy you feel when you support Filipino athletes. I also wish that I could expose my children to sports. I wish that DepEd could pay more attention to sports like these and not only dramas or variety show production numbers which I always see high school students practice in the afternoon – in the streets and all year-round.
May the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie be with the participating southeast Asia nations even after SEA Games. I pray for the safety of everyone and peaceful closing of this amazing sporting event. We’re halfway there! Let’s do this.
